Driving in the rain can be extremely dangerous. Roads become slick, and as water puddles, you may not know how deep some of those puddles are. There are a few tips to keep you safer when it starts raining.

The first thing you want to do is slow down. Although the speed limit may say 50 mph, you may want to drop your speed down to 45 or even 40 depending on traffic levels and how hard it is raining. Turn your headlights on, too, so that people can see where you are at all times.

In anticipation of driving in the rain, be sure that you have sufficient tread on your tires. It will make it easier to establish traction on the road. You also want to make sure to keep your windshield wipers in good condition so that they are able to clear your windshield.

Contact our service center at Volvo Cars Charlotte today to learn more about your vehicle. We can test your tire tread, change your windshield wipers, and more.
